Instructions

  • Prepare ingredients by removing skin and stone from avocado, cutting the skin from lime, and peel and chop apple and cucumber roughly.
  • Add all of the ingredients to a blender and pulse a few times to begin.
  • When the ingredients are all roughly chopped, turn the blender to high until completely smooth.
  • Pour over ice and enjoy immediately.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with additional ingredients. Many healthy options — from chia seeds to ginger — can be added to expand the nutritional value of this smoothie. 
If you want additional spiciness, add more jalapeño pepper or opt for a green serrano pepper instead. Serranos can be more than twice as hot as a jalapeño (2,000 to 8,500 SHU vs. 10,000 to 23,000 SHU.)
