Prepare ingredients by removing skin and stone from avocado, cutting the skin from lime, and peel and chop apple and cucumber roughly.
Add all of the ingredients to a blender and pulse a few times to begin.
When the ingredients are all roughly chopped, turn the blender to high until completely smooth.
Pour over ice and enjoy immediately.

Feel free to experiment with additional ingredients. Many healthy options — from chia seeds to ginger — can be added to expand the nutritional value of this smoothie. If you want additional spiciness, add more jalapeño pepper or opt for a green serrano pepper instead. Serranos can be more than twice as hot as a jalapeño (2,000 to 8,500 SHU vs. 10,000 to 23,000 SHU.)
