Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper powder
  • 1/4 cup golden syrup
  • 1 tablespoon bicarbonate of soda

Instructions

  • Place a large saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add white sugar, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, and golden syrup to the pan and mix to combine.
  • Cook until all of the sugar is dissolved, the mixture turns darker in color, and is 310 degrees fahrenheit (around 10 minutes.)
  • Remove from the heat and stir in the bicarbonate of soda.
  • Pour the mixture onto a sheet of baking parchment and allow to cool.
  • Break up into little chunks and enjoy!
