Simply delightful.

Hummus is a super simple dish to make, and spicing it up is as easy as a little crushed red pepper and paprika. It’s great with crackers, and it’s killer with apple slices or grapes. The sweet and the spice really complement each other.

To control the heat, play amount with the totals on both the paprika and red pepper flakes. The amounts listed below represent the fact that we LOVE things spicy.

  • 1 can chickpeas 15 oz, rinsed
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup water use only the amount needed for your preferred consistency
  • Salt to taste


  • Place all ingredients into a food processor and process until smooth. Slowly add in water and continue to blend until the hummus hits the perfect consistency for you. Top the hummus with EV olive oil.
