Smoky Chipotle Paste

Adding a little smoky spiciness to any meal is simple with this tasty chipotle paste recipe. Based on chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, it adds in earthy and even lemony undertones with the additions of coriander and thyme. It’s very versatile – use chipotle paste as a marinade for steak, chicken, and pork, or add it into a vinaigrette to add some heat to a salad. Try adding it into a tomato sauce to liven up your pasta, or add some to your eggs to spice up your breakfast.

  • Combine all ingredients in a food processor and pulse blend for 1 minute, or until you reach your desired consistency.

  • This looks like an easy and yummy recipe. I am excited to try it! How long will this generally keep for in the refrigerator?

    • Hi there – canned chipotle in adobo can last 1 to 2 months in the fridge when opened and sealed properly. This recipe is mainly that, but uses some fresh garlic. I’d say the shorter side of that range (1 month). But do a smell/taste test prior to using.
